The first few bends are now behind you.

You are travelling through nature’s embrace, on a pathway made of wood and stone. The trail leads you over wooden walkways and through galleries set into the living rock.

The river Radovna is just 17 kilometres. Its life is brief, but what a life it is! Along its journey, it carves like a sculptor playing with mountains.

The river is filled with the waters of the mighty Triglav mountain chain. Thanks to the care of our local communities of Gorje, Bled, and Jesenice, Vintgar Gorge still looks much like it did thousands of years ago – shaped by glaciers and water.

The Radovna picks up its pace in the narrow gorge. As it rushes, it forms small waterfalls, pools, and round holes in the rock. These holes are carved out by the flowing water, along with logs and stones carried by the river.

The gorge is dominated by sheer, cliff-like walls, between which the river has carved its path. In some places the walls rise up 250 metres above the water.

Move forward. Open your senses. Enjoy.
