Sometimes we might find them in places we don’t usually look. The Radovna River and its banks hide much more than just beautiful pools and rapids. Walking through the gorge, you may spot unusual structures – small, dome-shaped houses made of moss and leaves – in hidden corners along the riverbank, under branches, overhanging rocks or even behind a waterfall. These secret houses are the nests of the white-throated dipper.

Don’t be fooled by their modest exterior – each nest is a true masterpiece, keeping the family safe and warm at all times.

Be careful and respectful, because white-throated dippers seek and appreciate peace.
