My visit in 5 steps

So as to ensure you the best possible experience of Vintgar Gorge, we recommended planning your visit in 5 steps.

  1. Visit the website to learn about one of the world’s most beautiful gorges.
  2. Choose your arrival method, parking location, and check the VINTGAR Shuttle timetable.
  3. Buy your Vintgar Gorge All-in-One Pass online and secure yourself a time slot.
  4. Allow yourself enough time for your visit, at least 3 hours.
  5. Prepare for a safe and responsible visit.
1.

FIRST VISIT THE VINTGAR GORGE WEBSITE

We recommend exploring the stories and visit details online first. Carefully review the available arrival options, parking, or transportation via the VINTGAR Shuttle. We suggest using the audio guide, which you can access at selected points with your smartphone.

If you prefer to join a guided group, be sure to reserve your spot in advance – a guided tour is available every afternoon (from 1 June to 20 September at 4:00 PM, and at 3:00 PM during the remaining periods).

Digital pass purchase
Important
  • Buying a digital pass secures you the time slot that you choose at the moment of purchase.

  • If visiting Vintgar Gorge with a four-legged friend, be sure to buy a digital Vintgar Gorge All-in-One Pass for them too.

  • You can visit individually, with the help of an audio guide, or join a guided group.

2.

CHOOSE HOW TO GET HERE

Getting to the Vintgar Gorge is easy.

Parking for bicycles and motorcycles is available in the immediate vicinity of the VINTGAR Visitor Centre.

From Bled, you can also reach Vintgar on foot or by the VINTGAR Shuttle, which departs every 15 minutes from the central bus station in Bled (next to the Bled Rose Hotel) to the Central VINTGAR LIP Parking area. There, you transfer to the VINTGAR Shuttle, which runs approximately every 7 minutes to the VINTGAR Visitor Centre.

Visitors arriving by car can use the official VINTGAR LIP Parking area. From there, the VINTGAR Shuttle operates regularly to the VINTGAR Visitor Centre.

Thanks to its excellent location near Bled, the Vintgar Gorge is also easily accessible by train and bus.

Important
  • Access to the VINTGAR Visitor Centre by car is not possible.

  • If you are arriving by car, please check the location of the official VINTGAR parking lot Central Parking Lot LIP (1).

  • The official and free Central VINTGAR LIP Parking is the main HUB of the destination. From there, a shuttle runs to the Vintgar Gorge every 7 minutes.

3.

BUY A DIGITAL VINTGAR GORGE ALL-IN-ONE PASS ONLINE

We recommend purchasing your digital pass online to secure your preferred time slot for visiting the Vintgar Gorge. If you arrive without a digital pass or miss your time slot, you will need to wait for the next available entry. The only option for physical ticket purchase is at the Central VINTGAR LIP Parking (P1), before boarding the VINTGAR Shuttle.

The best time to visit the Vintgar Gorge is in the early morning or late afternoon – not only for the most beautiful light, but also to avoid crowds.

  • Vintgar Gorge All-in-One Pass purchases at the VINTGAR Visitor Centre are not possible.

Physical ticket purchase is available exclusively at the Central VINTGAR LIP Parking (P1).

  • In addition to online purchases, Vintgar Gorge All-in-One Pass can be bought at two VINTGAR Hubs before boarding the VINTGAR Shuttle.

4.

PLAN ENOUGH TIME TO EXPERIENCE THE VINTGAR GORGE

A visit to the Vintgar Gorge is not just a 1.6 km walk through the gorge, but a comprehensive experience that requires time. The visit follows a one-way circular route: after the Gorge Trail (approximately 45 minutes of walking), you continue along the thematic return route, the King of Triglav Trail (4.1 km), which brings you back to the VINTGAR Visitor Centre. The entire route measures 5.7 km and requires at least 2.5 to 3 hours. If you follow the audio guide, explore the surroundings, and take breaks, you may wish to allow even more time. We call this complete experience Vintgaring. For families with children, Vintgar for Kids is available – a playful adventure with a passport, following the route of the King of Triglav Trail and turning the visit into an exciting exploration for the youngest visitors. For a full day experience, we also recommend additional sights and activities in Gorje, the home of Vintgar.

Important
  • I reserve at least 3 hours for my visit to the Vintgar Gorge.

  • Arriving on time at the VINTGAR Visitor Centre is essential.

5.

I EXPLORE RESPONSIBLY, TASTE LOCAL FLAVOURS AND EXTEND THE EXPERIENCE

A visit to Vintgar is an experience of nature and place that calls for respect. During my visit, I follow the rules, stay on marked trails, do not leave the designated route, and take care of my own safety and the safety of others. I observe nature without interfering with it. I carry out my waste and respect the peace of the area and the local community.

Vintgaring is not just a walk through the gorge, but an opportunity to enrich the experience with local flavours and by exploring the surroundings. After completing the circular route, I return by my chosen transport – or extend the day by discovering Gorje and the wider area.

Important
  • For a safe and responsible visit, I review the 7 principles of responsible visiting.

  • I can enjoy local cuisine along the King of Triglav Trail (Jurček Bistro), after exiting the gorge near the Šum Waterfall, or at the VINTGAR Visitor Centre.

  • I make sure to wear appropriate hiking footwear.

  • I can extend my experience by exploring the surrounding area.
