How to get here

If you are coming from the Ljubljana direction, the easiest way to get here is by motorway. Leave the motorway at the Lesce–Bled exit and follow signs for Bled. Park in one of the two Parking Areas (the main VINTGAR LIP Parking Area, VINTGAR Blejska Dobrava Parking Area). The closest Parking Area is the main VINTGAR LIP Parking Area. The free electric Vintgar Shuttle runs from the Parking Areas to Vintgar Gorge.

Visitors arriving from the direction of Kranjska Gora are recommended to park in the VINTGAR Blejska Dobrava Parking Area. This will allow you to avoid heavy traffic and possible jams on the Bled bypass.
The easiest access is via the motorway, which you should leave at the Lipce exit, following signs for Jesenice-vzhod/Sp. Gorje and continuing in the direction of Sp. Gorje. Park in one of the three Parking Areas (the main VINTGAR LIP Parking Area, VINTGAR Blejska Dobrava Parking Area). The closest Parking Area is the VINTGAR Blejska Dobrava Parking Area.
The free electric VINTGAR Shuttle runs from the Parking Areas to Vintgar Gorge.

From Bled, take the Podhom direction and follow the asphalt road over Blate to the village of Podhom. Pass under the railway line and go straight on. When you reach the information board and drinking fountain, go straight on (following the sign for Vintgar) instead of continuing towards the centre of the village. When you reach the junction with a wayside shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary on the left, continue up the hill (following the sign for Vintgar), using the pavement when you come to it. At the top of the hill you can admire the view of Bled Castle. Keep following the road and, at the next junction, keep right and continue on past the memorial to Anton Belar. From here follow the road down to the river, cross the bridge and continue straight on to the Vintgar Visitor Centre

From the center of Bled, it’s about 4 km or a 50-minute walk to Vintgar Gorge. There are pedestrian signs leading to the VINTGAR Visitors Centre and in some places, separate pedestrian paths or lanes are also provided. In Gorje and Podhom, new sidewalks have been built to ensure a safer journey. From Bled, head towards Podhom, along an asphalted road, to the village of Podhom. After crossing the underpass, continue straight ahead, passing by the information board and drinking fountain, and continue straight ahead instead of towards the center of the village. At the end of the dirt pedestrian path, turn right towards the intersection at the Marijina Chapel, and then continue uphill along the sidewalk. At the top of the hill, you can admire the view of Bled Castle. Continue straight ahead along the road, and at the fork, keep right, passing by the monument to Albin Belar. From there, descend to the river, cross the bridge, and continue straight ahead to the VINTGAR Visitors Centre.

If you are coming from the Kranjska Gora/Jesenice direction, follow signs to Spodnje Gorje from Jesenice. Once you reach Spodnje Gorje, follow signs to Vintgar or Podhom. Motorcycle parking is available right next to the VINTGAR Visitor Centre (address: Podhom 80). Parking is free of charge for visitors to Vintgar Gorge.

If you are coming from Ljubljana, the easiest way to get here is by the A2 motorway (in the direction of Jesenice). Leave the motorway at the Lesce–Bled and follow signs to Bled. When you reach Bled, follow signs to Vintgar Gorge (Soteska Vintgar). Motorcycle parking is available
right next to the VINTGAR Visitor Centre (address: Podhom 80). Parking is free of charge for visitors to Vintgar Gorge.

If you wish to visit Vintgar Gorge by train, we recommend getting off at Podhom, which is the nearest station to the VINTGAR Visitor Centre and within walking distance. Trains to Podhom station come either from the Jesenice direction (Jesenice–Nova Gorica line) or from Bled Jezero (Lake Bled) station (Nova Gorica–Jesenice line). To get to the VINTGAR Visitor Centre from the station, follow the road through the idyllic village of Podhom, past the fire station, until you come to a junction with a wayside shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Continue uphill (following the sign for Vintgar), using the pavement when you come to it. At the top of the hill you can admire the view of Bled Castle.
