MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR YOUR VISIT TO VINTGAR GORGE:
- Proper hiking footwear and good physical condition are required.
- Use of a protective helmet is mandatory. Helmets are provided at the VINTGAR Visitor Centre and must be returned when exiting the gorge at the Šum Waterfall.
WHO VINTGAR GORGE VISIT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR:
Due to the challenging terrain, visiting the gorge is not recommended for children under 3 years old, pregnant women, people with mobility impairments and individuals with poor physical fitness. Baby strollers and wheelchairs are not permitted.
Prohibited Activities in Vintgar Gorge (for Nature and Visitor Safety)
- Leaving marked trails
- Climbing fences and bridges
- Approaching the river
- Swimming in the river or at Šum Waterfall
- Littering (there are no trash bins in the entire Vintgar Gorge and along thematic trails)
- Throwing stones, plants, or any other objects into the water or surrounding area
- Picking plants and taking stones
- Using drones
